He's a convicted rapist who's been on the run since January when he removed his ankle monitor and fled from a Houston halfway house and now, 59-year-old John Michael Enard is the Texas Department of Public Safety's featured fugitive of the month.
DPS is offering a reward of up to $13,000 for information leading to his arrest during the month of August.
Enard has family in Houston; Lafayette, Louisiana; and California. There have been reported sightings of Enard in Hammond, Arnaudvile and Carencro, Louisiana; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Clovis, New Mexico.
He's wanted for parole violation and felony failure to comply with civil commitment requirements. Enard's convictions include aggravated rape-sexual assault, burglary of habitation with intent to rape and burglary.
He's six feet tall and weighs about 155 pounds.
Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477). You can also text the letters "DPS" followed by your tip to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
