Let the people decide--the word from San Antonio City Councilwoman Elisa Chan on the much-talked about proposed non-discrimination ordinance--calling for voters to ultimaely decide the proposal's fate at the ballot box.
Simply put--Chan said there has not been enough official public discussion on the measure--and one way or another that has to change.
"Either we do a better job as a legislative body to really understand the ordinance--or--we need to really educate... and let the public decide" Chan told 550 KTSA's Jack Riccardi, adding "I think this ordinance has been so devisive, so emotional--it will really effect each one of us. I think people should really have their voice heard."
Chan has been a lightning rod amid the debate of the proposal--her secretly recorded comments on homosexuality creating a stir in recent weeks.
