The Deely One Power Plant in Southeast Bexar County is offline after an explosion involving a silo damages a building used to feed coal in to the power plant itself.
We're told it happened at around 11 AM Tuesday--and everyone is safe and sound.
"That's the very first thing we did was to make sure we had all of our employees evacuated and safe and accounted for" said Christine Pattmon with CPS Energy.
Pattmon told 550 KTSA News the damage loks to be light--and there is no lingering danger to the surrounding area.
"There's no danger to the community at all--it's isolated right there to the Calaveras Power Station" Pattmon said.
While the plant has been brought offline to allow investigators to determine exactly what caused the blast, Pattmon said the potential for power outages as a resutl has been reduced by the relatively cooler temperatures and cloudy conditions we've been experiencing.
