Back on the Job

By Bill O'Neil

After a week off the job as a result of the federal government shutdown--hundreds of civilian employees at Joint Base San Antonio have been called back to work.

"The guidance that we received from the Air Force is that all civilians--from the major command level and below--should report" said Joint Base San Antonio's Brent Boller. He told 550 KTSA News some 28-hundred employees of the 502nd Air Base Wing were told to report to work--but there are still plenty of questions.

"We're still looking at the broader picture to figure out exactly what the implications are--if this is permanent, and how this is going to sort out" Boller said.

In the meantime, the order to return to work brings one big positive with it.

"All the commisaries within Joint Base San Antonioo are open today--and will have regular hours" Boller said.
