CPS Energy is mourning the loss of one of their own, three weeks after a lineman fell from a pole during a training exercise.
54-year old Hector Castro, Junior was a 31 year veteran of the utility, and will be missed.
"Great guy, great worker, and everybody who I talked to who knew him just thought the world of him" said CPS Energy Vice-President of Human Resources Leslie Real, adding "He was a very positive guy, and clearly loved working here."
Real told 550 KTSA News Castro was taking part in a common training exercise at the Eastside Service Ceneter October 1st.
"He went up a standard telephone pole--apparently slipped and fell" Real said.
In the aftermath of the accident, the utility is now working to figure out just what went wrong. An investigation is underway, and training has been suspended.
