Could it be a sign of a "full recovery" from the "Great Recession" in San Antonio?
According to a newly released report on the jobs picture--only the financial services sector has lost jobs in the Alamo City since September--while other sectors have posted some very strong numbers.
"Education and Health Services reported 2,600 additional jobs since September--and that's always been a really strong industry for us" said Eva Esquivel with Workforce Solutions Alamo, adding the Governbment sector increased it's rolls by some 2,400 jobs over the same time frame.
All in all, Esquivel told 550 KTSA News a 5.8% jobless rate is the area's best figure since the end of 2008.
"Texas reported a 6.2% jobless rate--and the nation reported a 7.3% jobless rate. So, when you look at us at 5.8%, comparatively, we continue to do quite well" Esquivel said.
