A Republican U.S. Senate hopeful is trying to put Obamacare at the front and center of his effort to unseat incumbent Senator John Cornyn.
Simply put, businessman Ken Cope said now is the time to start thinking about what comes next--when it comes to finding a viable option to the Affordable Care Act.
"We're not going to have years in which to try to develop a new plan--we need to be doing it today" Cope told 550 KTSA News, promising to put forward an alternative within six months of taking office--should he be elected.
Cope's plan is based on the automobile insurance industry--and the competition in the marketplace it generates. He said the key word is accountability.
"We do it in private industry--but we don't seem to do that with our politicians. We don't judge them by their results as we do in private industry" Cope said.
