Apartment Debate to Resume in Alamo Heights

Developers are again hoping to win approval of the first step toward the construction of a proposed $30 million apartment complex in Alamo Heights. 

Alamo Manhattan has made some changes in  hopes of gettign a green light for a special use permit for the proposed Alamo Heights Gateway Project on Broadway at Austin Highway.  

Instead of 210 high-end residential units, the complex would feature 165 apartments, and would be no higher than 55 feet. 

Opponents have voiced concerns about the project's potential impact on traffic and schools. The Alamo Heights Planning and Zoning Commission is set to again take up the issue at 5:30 PM Monday.
