Activists Again Aim at Sea World

By Bill O'Neil

Animal rights activists are set to again take aim at Sea World--and one of the park's major corporate partners.

A peition contaning some 27-thousand signatures will be delivered to Southwest Airline's corporate headquarters in Dallas Wednesday Morning. Robin merritt told 550 KTSA News she started it all because it was time for someone to take a stand.

"Without partners like Southwest, Sea World would not be able to keep splitting up these families of orcas--and confine them to these tiny tanks they live in" Merrit said.

Eddie Garza signed the petition--and will be among those on hand to deliver it.

"Southwest has the power and ethical responsibility to help prevent animal cruelty by ending this dangerous partnership with Sea World" Garza told 550 KTSA News.
