Add the Number Two Republican in the United States Senate to those who say this could finally be the year that we see immigration reform.
"I do think the debate has changed and progressed--and I do think there are a number of areas where there is an emerging bi-partisan consensus" said Senator John Cornyn. Like the rest of us, Cornyn can see the signals that have been coming from the GOP's House Leadership.
"I do think the right approach is to do a step by step approach--and I'm looking forward to hearing what Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor's ideas are in that area" Cornyn said.
The Senator said Americans simply don't have a taste for a large, comprehensive reform plan--after the country's experience with Obamacare.
