HOUSTON (AP) - Parts of Texas could have wintry conditions going into the weekend as a cold front reaches the state.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Houston area from Thursday night to Friday morning. Forecasters say there's a chance of rain turning to sleet and snow by morning but with little or no accumulations. Highs are expected in the mid-30s Friday before warming to the 60s on Saturday.
A winter weather advisory for the Austin and San Antonio areas runs from Thursday night to midday Friday with a chance of light freezing rain and snow before temperatures warm. Highs in the 70s are expected Saturday in Austin.
Wind chill advisories Friday with chances for rain reached south to Corpus Christi and Brownsville, with warmer temperatures by Saturday.
