You could feel the ripple here in Texas--after Governor Rick Perry makes some comments on marijuana at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
According to U.S. News and World Report, the Governor lined up squarely behind decriminalization efforts--a stance applauded by Ana Yanez-Correa with the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition.
"Both Republicans and Democrats are talking about this issue--unlike any other issue. I'm not just talking about marijuana, I'm talking about drug treatment in general, I'm talking about reforming the way the criminal justice system is" Yanez-Correa told 550 KTSA News.
The Governor--who has been a backer of intervention and diversion programs--also reportedly stated his opposition for legalizing marijuana in Texas. However, the same report said he also supports recent legalization decisions made in Colorado and Washington as "state's rights."
