Cattle Drive and Pow Wow

Downtown San Antonio will look like the old wild west Saturday when cowboys move a herd of longhorn cattle down Houston street during the Western Heritage parade.
"They'll have cavalry units.  They'll have authentic weapons and stagecoaches," said Bruce Hathaway with the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
The Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive will begin at 11 a.m. on Houston Street in front of Christus Santa Rosa and will proceed east to Alamo Plaza.  Games and family activities are scheduled from 9 to 1 pm at  Alamo Plaza.
Hathaway told 550 KTSA News the event promotes the opening of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo February 6th.
Meanwhile, several Native American tribes from Texas and other states are gathering in San Antonio this weekend for the 17th annual United San Antonio Pow Wow at the Alzafar Shrine Auditorium.
Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 pm Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 pm Sunday.
Highlights include a gourd dance, the grand entrance and Native American drummers, dancers and singers in full regalia.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
