LBJ Library to Reveal Civil Rights Summit Details

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The LBJ Presidential Library and Museum will reveal details of a Civil Rights Summit to be held in Austin in April to commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Lyndon B. Johnson signing the Civil Rights Act.
The Dallas Morning News reports ( that three of the four living presidents will attend. Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will be present. It is possible President Barack Obama will also attend the summit.
The summit is occurring as Johnson's family revisits his legacy and attempts to lift the shadow the Vietnam War left over his broad domestic agenda.
The ceremony at the LBJ library will be followed by 50th anniversary celebrations of his other initiatives, including Medicare, the Clean Air Act, seatbelt requirements and health warnings on cigarettes.
