By Don Morgan and Bill O'Neil

A burglarly suspect is rushed to the hospital after being shot by undercover San Antonio Police Officers.

We're told it all happened before Noon Wednesday--in a neighborhood near Culebra and Old Grissom.

"We've had an issue with burglaires in thei particular neighborhood" said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, adding "Underccover detectives were working the neighborhood."

That's where the Chief said officers spotted several suspects taking a television from a home. The officers then moved in, leading the suspects to speed away in an SUV--which rammed an unmarked police car in the midst of the attempted escape.

"At that point police officers fired at the driver of that car--there were three individuals in it" McManus said.

The driver was the only one hit by the fire--the other suspects were taken in to custody. No police officers were hurt.
