USAA Chief to Step Down

By Bill O'Neil

A change at the top is coming for one of San Antonio's biggest companies.

USAA CEO and President Joe Robles said the time is right for the company, his family, and himself--and he will retire early next year.

Company officials praised Robles leadership--pointing to USAA's growth during his tenure, amid some of the costliest catastrophe years it has seen.

The company said it will follow a succession plan that is already in place, and expects to name Robles successor by the end of this year.
