Lawsuit Challenges Streetcar Plan

By Johnny Shannon

The downtown San Antonio streetcar plan has hit another bump in the road.
LULAC  activist  George Alejo  has appealed an Austin  judge's order allowing the use of 2004 Advanced Transportation District sales tax dollars to build  downtown  transportation centers.

Saying the matter should be settled by a public vote, Alejo tells 550 KTSA News officials had promised not to use those funds on light rail, but they insist streetcars  and light rail are not the same.

Another rally is planned outside the VIA  Metro Transit building at Medina and West Houston street February 25th at 4:40 pm.
