A San Antonio Congressman adds his voice to those calling for a notorious, reputed Mexican drug lord to be tried in the United States.
Congressman Pete Gallego told 550 KTSA News such a move would make a lot of sense.
"I would hope that they would bring him back to the United States. He has escaped from Mexico once" Gallego said. A former prosecutor himself, Gallego believes the arrest of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman will help both reinvigorate what has been a struggling tourims economy along much of the border--while significantly weakening the Sinaloa Cartel.
"Frankly, I don't think the next person that comes along is going to be able to do the kinds of things--is going to be able to show the initiative and drive that "Chapo" Guzman had" Gallego said.
