The fifth anniversary of the founding of the Tea Party movement will be marked Wednesday in Washington--and Texas will be represented.
South Texas Coordinator George Rodriguez told 550 KTSA News he'll be in D.C. for the occasion--at which Senator Ted Cruz will be a speaker.
"The whole idea is to get a barometer of where we are, where we're going, and to serve notice to not only the liberals--but to the Republican Party itself--that the Tea Party is not going to go away" Rodriguez said.
A fairly large crowd is expected for the occasion.
"They're expecting at least two-thousand folks, delegates and various representatives from the Tea Party nationwide to be there" Rodriguez said.
