Prosecutor Speaks on Scheduled Execution

A San Antonio attorney who helped prosecute a death row inmate facing execution Wednesday Evening has no qualms about the sentence being carried out.  

"This was a very premeditated murder of a man who was as nice as they get" said Jeff Mulliner, now a private practice attorney--but part of the prosecution team that ultimately won a conviction in the case against Ray Jasper. Prosecutors proved their case--that Jasper--then an aspiring rapper--murdered San Antonio recording studio owner David Alejandro.  

"He was a wannabe rapper. I got copies of what he considered the best work he ever produces... it was not good" Mulliner told 550 KTSA News, adding "He saw David as nothing more than an opportunity to take what David had, and use that for the advancement of Ray Jasper's own personal interests."  

Jasper was convicted iof merdering Alejandro as part of an effort to cover up a robbery of the recording studio. Jasper said he was there--but insists another person who was there fatally stabbed Alejandro. Jasper also claims a prospective juror was improperly excluded from his trial on the basis of race.
