Listen to your kids--the advice from experts amid the threat this week aimed at an unnamed elementary school in San Antonio--who say the time to be reassuring is now.
"I know you're really , really scared about this. It's really scary that somebody may come in to your school--and I know if you go to school, your teacher will keep you safe" said Nancy Franklin at the Ecumenical Center, describinbg for 550 KTSA News a way in which a parent can speak witht heir child about what they might be hearing.
Frnanklin said it's up to parents to also listen to what their children have to say--and to take steps to get them away from all of the talk surrounding the threat.
"Spend time reading to them, go to the park. Do things outside, do things to calm them" Franklin said.
Police have said the threat does not appear to be credible--but they are taking nothing for granted.
