Five months after flames tore through their Northeast side home--two women are behind bars.
"They're both being charged with capital murder and attempted capital murder" said San Antonio Police Sergeant Javier Salazar. He told 550 KTSA News investigators have determined 19-year old Miranda Herrera and a still unnamed 17-year old set the Dcember 19th fire on Castle Pine--near Midcrown--in an attempt to collect an insurance payout.
"Initially it appeared as though it may be an accidental fire. However, they (investigators) kept on investigating it and got information that allowed them to bring in these two young ladies and question them" Salazar said.
We're told the 22-year old man who died int he fire was Herrera's autistic brother, while her 48-year old father was so seriously injured, he continues to require round the clock medical care.
