The race for Lieutenant Governor is set--with Republican Dan Patrick set to square off against Democrat Leticia Van de Putte in November.
So, how will the State Senator from San Antonio fare in the race? Most experts see her chances as slim.
"She's a pretty strong candidate--but right now I would say that no Democratic candidate has a realistic chance of victory in November. But, if I had to pick one candidate and say that person is the one that could give us a surprise, it would be Van de Putte" said Rice Univerity Political Science Chair Mark Jones, who told 550 KTSA News Patrick's win Tuesday shows Republicans in Texas continue to favor movement conservatives.
"He and other movement conservatives pulled the tone of the debat over to Tea Party territory" Jones said.
