The scandal continues to widen--with a San Antonio Veterans Administration facility now confirmed to be under investigation.
The allegations are similar to those in Phoenix--where the deaths of dozens of patients led officials to uncover secret wait lists and bogus documents.
"What really cries out about this is veterans are the ones we should most cherish and most make sure they don't have to wait for health care. They've already put their lives on the line for us and already have sacrificed for us" said San Antonio Republican Congressman Lamar Smith on the investigatio at the V.a.'s North Central Federal Clinic.
Smith told 550 KTSA News at least four V.A. locations in Texas are under investigation--and the search for answers will continue until investigators get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
"I think we're looking at another three to six months before it's totally complete. At that point, we should know every facility in the country--whether they've been a part of this scandal or not" Smith said, adding "The Administration has known about this since they first tok office, and didn't do anything about it until the scandal broke."
