New Report Ranks S.A. Low on Parks

By Don Morgan

A new study finds San Antonio lagging--when it's parks are stacked up against other large cities around the country.

"The good news is San Antonio is not at the bottom of the list--but the bad news is that it's at number 53 out of 60" said Peter Harnick with the Trust for Public Land, the group that completed the study. He told 550 KTSA News the Alamo City's parks are nice enough--the issue is their locatikon.

"Too many people in San Antonio are too far from a park to walk to it. Only 35% of all the citizens live within a half-mile of a park" Hnrik said.

Minneapolis finished at the top of the list--Fresno finished at the bottom. Corpus Christi was the top-ranked Texas city according tot he study.
