The Texas Department of Public Safety is paying extrra close attention to commercial vehicle inspections this week.
The campaign is called "Roadcheck 2014"--and it runs through Thursday.
"In order to reduce crashes, and protect public safety, we call on all drivers--commercial and passengers, to obey traffic laws, and avoid aggressive driving behaviors in the interest of saving lives and reducing serious injury" said Anthony Flores with DPS. He told 550 KTSA News the program has proven successful in years past--including last year.
"DPS and other Texas law enforcement agencies participating in Raodcheck inspected 9,228 commercial vehicles--compared to approximately 8,100 in 2012" Flores said.
