Officer Hurt in Traffic Accident

A Northeast Independent School District Police officer is expected to be ok--after being thrown from his motorcycle while escorting a funeral on the westside. 

The accident took place at about Noon Wednesday at U.S. Highway 90 and General McMullen--where the 63 year old officer had stopped traffic. That's when an SUV exited the road at highway speed--slamming in to another car--and the officer--knocking him from the bike.  

"Alcohol was not a factor... but it was driver inattention... that's what's going to go on the accident report" said San Antonio Police Sergeant Javier Salazar. 

A 51 year old woman who was int he other vehicle hit byt he SUV was also taken to a hospital--and is expected to be ok.
