Abbott Presses Feds on Immigrant Crisis

By Don Morgan

Texas will do the job--and you're going to pay for it--the message sent to Washington D.C. by Attorney General Greg Abbott after taking a first hand look at the facilities used to house undocumented immigrant children at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

"The state of Texas is going to put the boots on the ground--but we expect the federal government to foot the bill" Abbott said following the tour on which he was joined by Senator Ted Cruz.

Abbott said about 90-thousand unaccompanied children have come to the United States in recent months.

"We're seeing our border patrol agents completely overburdened--and there are consequences to that" Abbott said, adding "One of the consequences to that is they're empowering the (drug) cartels."
