A call for a special session to address what has become an emergency in the State of Texas. That's just what State Senator--and Democratic Candidate for Governor Wendy Davis is out with--asking Governor Rick Perry for a special legislative session to deal with the continuing immigration crisis along the southern border.
"So the Legisalture can release funds... with respect to the humanitarian needs that are here" Davis said while visisting McAllen.
Davis joined others in criticizing the fedral government--which she said has fallen short in dealing with the situation.
"If you lok at the response from the federal government to date, it's not being treated as such (a humanitarian crisis)" Davis said.
