Call for Special Session Grows

By Don Morgan

The call for a special legislative session is growing louder--with two state lawmakers from opposing political parties adding their voices to the call amid the continuing crisis caused by the flow of undocumented immigrant children over the border in to Texas.

Democratic State Senator Carlos Uresti told 550 KTSA News Texas is doing all it can to hlp the tens of thousands of children that have been crossing the Rio Grande.

"Considering that we've never seen anything like this happen before, we're doing a reasonable job--but obviously, we're going to have to do a much better job in order to address what is turning out to be a crisis" Uresit said.

Across the Aisle, Republican State Senator Donna Campbell told 550 KTSA News it's now up to Texas to fix a problem created by Washington.

"The Obama Administration has failed to engage with the Border Patrol in any adequate way" Campbell said.
