A laptop computer containing the personal information of hundreds of Metro Health patients has been stolen.
Investigators told 550 KTSA News the computer was stolen from the trunk of an employee's car back in May.
"It doesn't look like the laptop was specifically targeted because it had any kind of health information on it. It was more targeted because it's a laptop--and easy item to steal" said Metro Health's Director of Operations Paul Fenstermacher.
Fenstermacher said affected patients and their families have been notified of the theft.
"The patients that were on there--the majority of them were infants, under three years old" Fenstermacher said.
