No More VIA in Castle Hills?

By Kurt Gilchrist

Could one San Antonio community be ready to hop off the bus?

The City of Castle Hills could do just that--as it considers whether to ask voters in November whether or not VIA's service should remain in place.

"We understand these are hard economic times in all of our suburban cities to come up with monies--but the bottom line is how important is public transit to your citizens, and to your commercial enterprises" the question raised by VIA during Tuesday Night's public meeting.

Twelve suburban San Antonio cities--including Castle Hills--pay a half-cent sales tax in exchange for VIA's services.
