Castro Says "Goodbye"

A public "goodbye" from Mayor Julian Castro--as he prepares to leave for Washington--and his new job as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. 

"Thank you for everything you do to make this city one of the greatest cities in the world" Castro said, while speaking before a Chamber of Commerce event Wednesday Night. The Mayor said he departs with San Antonio serving as a model for others around the country.  

"A city of prosperity, and also, a city of charachter" Castro said.  

Council is set to fill the Mayoral seat Tuesday with an interim selection to be chosen from a pool that includes Councilmembers Ray Lopez, Ivy Taylor, Ron Nirneberg, and Shirley Gonzales.
