He hasn't left for Washington yet--but already, immigrant activists are putting heat on Julian Castro.
They want the new Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to use his influence within the Obama Administration to bring an end to any deportation effort aimed at the undocumented Central American children who have been crossing in to Texas by the thousand this year.
"I know he supports immigration reform" said Jaime Martinez at the Cesar E. Chavez Education and Legacy Foundation. He said the solution to the crisis is simpler than sending the children home.
"The solution is not anger, not racism. We'[re going back to the 60's--the civil rights movement. This is another civil rights movment" Martinez said.
