Outbreak in the U.S.?

By Don Morgan

The world's largest Ebola outbreak has killed hundreds of people in Africa--which raises the question of whether you should be worried about the illness in the United States.

Most experts say the chance of an outbreak in the U.S. is pretty slim.

"Because of the devastation that could be caused by the illness, the Centers for Disease Control is very vigilant, and is asking physicians to increase theirawareness" said emergency medical physician Dr. Craig Manifold, who told 550 KTSA News emergency rooms across the country are on the lookout for signs of the sickness.

"As with other outbreaks of infectious diseases, we're always looking out and trying to protect the public as best we can" Manifold said.
