Record breaking territory for the Edwards Aquifer--with the San Antonio Pool now under Stage IV pumping restrictions.
The order comes following what has been a steady decline int he water level.
"Meaning the elevation of the Aquifer dropped below 630 feet for the ten day average, and the spring flows are below their trigger poitn as well" said Terri Herbold with the Edwards Aquifer Authority. She told 550 KTSA News a bleak weather outlook for the near-term has officials pushing a call for conservation.
"We have no measurable weather systems coming our way. The only way out of this situation is rain" Herbold said.
SAWS will remain at Stage II restrictions for now--other utilities will decide for themselves whether or not they will pass along tighter restrictions to their customers.
