Is anybody really surprised? Burger King has pulled the plug on Satis-fries--an item they once touted as a healthier choice.
Bob Wills with the PM Group in San Antonio told 550 KTSA News restaurants known for not offering healthy food often fail when they attempt to do so.
"It's kind of an oxymoron. Jumbo shrimp, healthy french fries--how do you ever get past that, thinking something is going to be healthy when it's not" Wills said.
Eric Cooper with the San Antonio Food Bank said marketing healthier food options is tough when Americans have become accustomed to cheap, unhealthy food.
"When it comes to eating healthy I think you see two major factors" Cooper told 550 KTSA News, adding "One is price point, two is labor. If we're going to have any impact on getting families to eat healthier, we've got to keep those two things in mind."
