Is the Republican Party losing sight of it's core values--thanks to an influx of Libertarians?
Some conservatives fear that may be happening--but Cathie Adams with The Texas Eagle Forum--who is also a one-time Chair of the Republican Party of Texas--told 550 KTSA News the GOP welcomes those who don't always agree.
"There are new people coming in to the Party who may not hold all of our psoitions--but I've been around long enough to know there are some people that come in, they get to know us, and they kind of like all of those values too" Adams said.
Rice University Political Science Chair Mark Jones told 550 KTSA News Republicans have always had a Libertarian presence among their ranks.
"With the rise of the Tea Party, we're seeing more and more people with Libertarian positions on many issues, such as the role of government in society, marijuana legalization, gun control" Jones said.
