A San Antonio man convicted of murdering his new bride has been slapped with the maximum punishment of life behind bars.
Twenty-six-year-old Charles Reese had been married less than a month when he gunned down his new bride during an argument last year.
Eighteen-year-old Shanika Sanford was shot in the face, neck, chest and hand after she refused to get into their car.
A Bexar County jury Thursday handed Reese a life sentence.
