Patrick Ultimatum for Ft Worth ISD

A flurry of policies affecting transgender people has swept the country in recent weeks, leading to widespread protests, economic losses and a growing debate about equality and privacy.

Remove the policy or resign…

That’s the message from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to Forth Worth ISD Superintendent Kent Scribner.

Scribner instituted a controversial transgender bathroom policy across his district. It sparked instant reaction from the Lieutenant Governor.

Tuesday, Attorney General Ken Paxton told Patrick that Scribner’s policy violated the Texas Education Code, so, without hesitation, Dan Patrick repeated his call to Scribner to remove the policy or resign from his position.

It is never appropriate to threaten school teachers or administrators for following state law which requires sharing student information with parents,” Patrick said, in a statement.
