Plans for Crosswalk Near V.A. Hospital

Employees at Medical Center may feel like they’re playing a game of Human Frogger as they try to cross busy Floyd Curl Drive.

That’s about to change. City Council is set to take a final vote on a new crosswalk near the V-A.

Council member Ron Nirenberg says pedestrian safety in that area has been an issue since he was voted in.

He talked only to KTSA about the project.

“Design and construction is about 600 thousand dollars. About 250 thousand will be through a partnership with University of Texas Health Science Center.”

The crosswalk will allow for a much safer walk for the thousands of pedestrians in that area.
