“Project Cool” Again Underway

By Don Morgan

A city wide effort to help keep everyone cool this summer is underway.

Woody Woodward at the San Antonio Fire Department tells us for the 21st year, Project Cool is collecting fans for people who need them.

“Unfortunately we have a population of seniors or handicapped people who either don’t have air or they have air conditioning but they can’t afford to use it.”

The Fire Department is collecting new 20 inch box fans that will be distributed to those who need them.

Woodward says you can drop a fan off at your nearest fire Station between 10am and 8pm any day of the week. The only station not accepting fans is the location at the airport.

If you need a fan, just contact the United Way Helpline at 211.
