S.A. Among Country’s Lowest Gas Prices

Looking for a bargain at the gas pump? You really don’t have to look much farther than San Antonio.

“The sixth cheapest (average pump price) in the nation. The interesting thing is just how cheap gas is in San Antonio compared to even Texas–where it’s about $1.90 (on average)” Gasbuddy dot-com’s Will Speer told KTSA News.

Speer said part of what’s helping to hold prices down here is the relatively low cost of real estate when compared to other large cities.

“San Antonio is still able to maintain relatively low gas prices despite having such a large population” Speer said.

Meanwhile, Speer said demand continues to be high.

“Demand is just surging because of all of these cheap prices (across the country)” Speer said.

However, between now and Memorial Day, Speer expects prices to generally only creep up across the country.
