S.A. Gas Prices Nudge Up Ahead of Labor Day

A slight jump in gas prices as we head into Labor Day.

Doug Shupe at Triple A Texas says the average price statewide went up a couple of cents in the past week but it’s still considerably less than what we were paying a year ago.

The highest price per gallon is in Amarillo with the lowest prices found in Corpus Christi. Here in San Antonio, the average price per gallon is sitting at 1.98.

Shupe says once the holiday weekend is behind us, prices will level off as there is a big supply of gasoline. He says the biggest concern at this point is a couple of tropical storms that could interrupt production in the Gulf of Mexico.
