S.A. Gas Prices Up Slightly

Another small increase in price at San Antonio gas pumps this week–all part of what we’ve come to expect each Spring.

“Over the past month… prices have gone up 32-cents a gallon (in the San Antonio area)” said Gasbuddy dot-com’s Will Speer, who told KTSA News a mild refinery maintenance season so far has really been an aspirin for your aching wallet.

“Luckily, that’s helped keep gas prices in check when the price of crude has seen some strength lately” Speer said.

If all holds to form, Speer expects these small weekly price increases to be the norm for the next couple of months.

“We’re going to see this gentle uptick in prices until about the Memorial Day Weekend. That’s really when things will be all switched over (to summer blend fuel), and then you start to see that one big push (on prices)” Speer said, adding “Once we hit that point, it should be smooth sailing.”
