By Don Morgan

The Faithful gather on the steps of City Hall for the National Day Of Prayer Ceremony.

Suzanne Dollar is one of the event organizers. She spoke to us about the importance of the day saying they’re hoping to talk to God about their families, the city and everything that concerns those attending.

She says at 10, people in need of prayer can stop in as a prayer tent will be set up.

After that, some pre-service music beginning at 11:30 with the Cornerstone Sanctuary Choir and Praise Team.

The service will begin at noon with comments from Mayor Ivy Taylor, Bexar County D.A Nico LaHood along with spiritual and civic leaders from across the city.

The National Day Of Prayer was signed into law in 1952 by President Harry Truman. Then in 1988, President Reagan established the day be held every year on the first Thursday of May.
