S.A. Marks National Night Out

San Antonio has celebrated “National Night Out” at events across the Alamo City.

“The goal here is safety and bringing the community together” Organizer Marie Cooper told KTSA News at Monticello Park Tuesday Night. That area was hit not long ago by a break-in–but she said the community stepped up.

“A neighbor came out and took a picture of the license plate, and confronted the person. It’s on Facebook, and the police are actively in pursuit of that person” Cooper said.

It’s a message Mayor Ivy Taylor has been pushing–re-connecting and building strong communities.

“Rally together around the idea that we take control of the environment we are in–through working together, we can make or neighborhood a better place” Taylor said.
