S.A. Marks Veteran’s Day

It’s Veterans Day as we honor those who have served and those who are serving in the U.S. armed forces.

It’s a holiday for city, county, state and federal employees, but most schools are open.

A Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled at 10 this morning at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with a music prelude at 9:30.

San Antonio College will host a ceremony at 11 this morning and the Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers will gather at 1:30 this afternoon at the San Antonio National Cemetery.

The Air Force Band of the West presents a free concert at 7 tonight at Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium. Free tickets have been distributed, but if you don’t have one, go ahead and show up early. You should be able to get a seat.

Secretary of the Army Eric Fanning will be one of the speakers at a wreath laying ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Alamo before a parade steps off at noon. Both events are sponsored by the U.S. Military Veterans Parade Association.
