SAFD Set to Start Collecting Toys

The San Antonio Fire Department starts collecting toys for it’s annual SAnta Firefighter Toy Drive this weekend.

“For about the last six years, we have been working with local school districts to help get toys for families in need,” SAFD’s Woody Woodward told KTSA News.

From there, the toy drive has grown, “so not only are we helping local school districts, but also churches (and) shelters,” he said.

He said the drive gives toys to kids who otherwise might not have a Christmas.

“This year, we’re thinking we’re going to end up over 2,000 children that will be able to get gifts,” he said.

You can help by donating a new, unwrapped toy at HEB and Walmart locations on December 3rd and 10th.
