SAWS Unveils Budget Plan

The wraps are off of the next proposed budget for SAWS.

The plan includes a rate hike of just under seven-percent–about one-percent lower than the hike authorized earlier by the San Antonio City Council. It does include a nearly 8-percent increase for former Bexar Met customers.

Much of the new revenue will be dedicated to capital projects that are planned by the utility.

A series of public meetings will be held on the plan over the next couple of weeks–with a City Council briefing set for November 9th. A final vote is expected before the end of the year.
